Many people wonder what I actually do when I'm in Mexico. Areli is busy with finishing her final semester. So she's busy, but what do I actually do? Here are some of the things I've done this past week: did continuing medical education (CME) modules on the internet to maintain my medical license, rollerbladed, investigated medical insurance options for our new position, worked on organizing some details for some medical students that will be coming down to Guatemala, lifted weights, went to the store with Areli on the motorcycle, ran at the park, worked on my Gospel of John course, updated missionarydoc.com, played the trumpet with the worship team at church, prepared PowerPoint slides for church, attended the funeral of the father of a church member, saw 007 on the big screen, processed my expenses and tax info for my previous assignment, and went to Six Flags Mexico (see the pictures).
Well, there you have it. I do some stuff. However, I have a lot more free time than I'm used to. It has been over a month since my last trip to Kalamazoo to work. I'm getting the itch to get back to work! January 12th, our start date in Guatemala, seems like a long ways away. On the other hand, we have a lot of things to do before then. We are planning a trip to Houston to meet more of the supporters of our missions group and then on to spend time with my family for Christmas. For those of you interested in what we are doing from day to day, I have added a calendar to the site.
This is Areli's last week of classes! Praise God that she is about receive the fruit of her 4 1/2 years of labor.
