Among the various clinics we do, we also help out a relatively new ministry of drug and alcohol rehabilitation that is called Corazón de Jesús (Heart of Jesus). Some of our associates support the ministry financially. From time to time the pastor has patients with medical issues often times related to their substance abuses. Today, Areli and I stopped by to drop of a few medicines and a glucose testing machine. At this point, we are almost completely out of a diabetes medicine called metformin. We have 10,000 pills waiting for us in Houston and are waiting for someone who can bring some down. Anyway, the pastor came out with 1000 pills of metformin and some other medicines. It turns out that he had gone to another ministry which gives out medicines to look for medicines for his recovering alcoholics. They gave him a lot more than he needed so he gave a bunch to us. He was happy to help us out and we gratefully accepted the gift. Generally, "it is better to give than to receive," but I think it is better to yet to see God working through the body of Christ to accomplish his goals. It's neat to God uses "the poor" to give to "the rich." It's all His anyway, right?

NEW--POLLS

As an exciting extra, I will put a polls on the site from time to time (look on the right side). They are a good opportunity to learn something that you may or may not have wanted to know. I will post the answer to the poll in the next post. Please participate!
