This week we made plans to start a new clinic.  We were all set to go tomorrow.  But now we can't do it.  Why, you ask?  Because things cost too much in Guatemala.  At least that's what some people think.  The word on the street is that tomorrow a nation-wide protest will take place.  What does that entail, you ask?  A bunch of Mayans will block all of the roads, threaten to kill anyone who tries to get by, drink corn liquor until they can no longer stand, and (my favorite) probably burn some tires.  I am quite convinced that this will have no effect on the price of stuff in Guatemala.  What does all this mean, you ask?  I have no idea other than that we won't be able to start our new clinic tomorrow.
