This past week I have been quite busy with various tasks.  In a week, Areli and I will be in Houston spending a short time with our mission group and then on to the rest of the world before arriving in Guatemala.  Our arrival date is set for January 12th.  The plane tickets are bought and the countdown timer is ticking away on the website.

Areli is done with her classes and will have her final English exam on Monday.  Then she will be free!  We will be celebrating her graduation with a trip to Europe compliments of the Mexican Government.  Well, not exactly, but they did pay for 4 1/2 years of tuition-free college.

Over the next five weeks, we will be flying from Mexico City to Houston to visit our mission group, flying from Houston to Baltimore to visit my brother in Virginia, driving back to Michigan with my family for Christmas, flying from Detroit to Barcelona, from Barcelona to Rome, from Rome to Paris, taking a train from Paris to London, spending time with friends in Great Britain, flying from London to Detroit, Detroit to Mexico City, Mexico City to Guatemala City, and driving four hours through the mountains to finally arrive at our new home in Santa Cruz del Quiché.

As you can imagine, we have a lots of business to do this week so that all of our travels will end up being a pleasure.  Thankfully, I have had the time to do a lot of planning but there's still a lot left to do.  Areli and I are looking forward to spending the time together and with our families before moving on to the next phase of our lives.

A note to our prayer partners:  please pray 1) that our time over this transition period would be God-directed and God-honoring, and 2) that God would continue to spiritually prepare us for our new, soon-approaching ministry.
